#41 - A Weapon, Forged
I know, I know – I suck. There’s no excuse for a 3-week lapse. Would it help if I told you my right hand fell prey to a tragic rodent attack? No? Wow, tough crowd.
Really, though, I appreciate your patience (all three of you). We’re back on the horse, though, and picking up the story again with the Reclaimer himself. The resumption of the storyline features the use of a couple of the new filters – Gloomy and Old Timey. (Say hello, fellas.) It’s time, I think to really start to delve into the Reclaimer’s backstory and find out a little more about our reluctant hero.

Welcome back Jim!
NOW BACK TO THE COMIC MACHINE MONKEY BOY!
But serously though, we missed you, all three of us. We well tell the assasins to stand down for a week, to see if you make good on the scedual this time.
And how many filters are you useing now? Three? The forge filters and the photo shop one?

Excellent recovery choice. Dispelling the fog of history is a great way to resume after a long break. To me at least :P I’ll be watching.

re: John Kenyon – Yes, that would make three filters at the moment. I’m going to try this out for this flashback sequence and see how it goes. Hopefully, it will heighten the atmosphere and not make it too hard to see things.
re: ArK – Thanks for the vote of confidence. I didn’t really think it’d be fair to try to returning to the previous ‘chapter’ with Ferial and the AI after such a long break, and I’ve wanted to get the storyline back to the Reclaimer, anyway. This just made sense to me. Hope you enjoy it!

a little to dark for my taste with the filters, makes it hard to make details out, but nice piece, certainly has me intrigued

Great setup!

re: nomis78 – To some extent, I want the flashback sequence to be somewhat obscured. Admittedly, though, the conversion of the file from .psd to .jpg makes it even a little darker than I intended. I may have to play with another filter to lighten it up a bit.
re: HeavenlyYeti – Thanks, Yeti. I like a little intrigue coupled with a cliffhanger wherever possible. :)

You now have four. Congratulations.

re: Sario – Hey, cool. My readership grows! Break out the champagne and the party hats! We’re going to party like it’s 1999! :)

Your vote of confidence has now risen by 1.
Seriously though, I missed Reclaimer, but I realise that everyone’s got a life outside of Halo. (except maybe me)
I found the filter a little TOO dark though. Nice one, anyway!

re: Shu Sam Chen – Oh, yes, life is definitely full. Can’t really complain much, but for the fact that it doesn’t let me write Reclaimer as often as I’d like.
Yeah, I’m going to play around the filter a bit and see if I can lighten it up a bit more.

Not to act like a self-important @#/”¬! but was I one of the original 3?

re: The Railway Man – Exaggeration for the sake of humor, that was. :) I think it was actually six readers. ;-)

I just replaced this one with an updated version that has an adjustment layer to make it a little bit brighter. There’s still a lot left in shadow due to the filters, but that is something I want to keep for the time being. But the page overall isn’t quite as dark.

This is a phenomenal piece of work. The art style and dialogue in this page alone, has sold me on an already gripping series. Nice!

re: 7th Columnist – I’m glad you like it! It took me a while to find my artistic style for Reclaimer. :)
