#41 – A Weapon, Forged

I know, I know – I suck. There’s no excuse for a 3-week lapse. Would it help if I told you my right hand fell prey to a tragic rodent attack? No? Wow, tough crowd.

Really, though, I appreciate your patience (all three of you). We’re back on the horse, though, and picking up the story again with the Reclaimer himself. The resumption of the storyline features the use of a couple of the new filters – Gloomy and Old Timey. (Say hello, fellas.) It’s time, I think to really start to delve into the Reclaimer’s backstory and find out a little more about our reluctant hero.

Reclaimer: "I never wanted this..."

"...but they insisted. 'for the preservation of mankind,' they said."

"And I believe their intentions were pure..."

"...at first."

"They selected me as the best of the best, a soldier, a leader, a warrior."

"And they forged armor that was, in itself, a weapon, and bonded it to me forever - a prison of metal and silicon."

"They had no way to know I was already jaded, burned out, cynical, that I was no longer sure humanity was worth saving."

"They never bothered to ask."
