Ferial is possibly the most well-versed Sangheili in all of history…also the most well-read. Shakespeare, Sir Walter Scott, who is next Nietzsche?
I love cocky arrogance of Ferial!
p.s. question – did you mean sempiternal? or are there more hidden meanings here?

Love the addition of poetry! Even more neat is that i recognize them! Are not all villains so uncreative when it comes to poetry

re: Driver117 – New comics go up at midnight of the relevant day. In this case, it was midnight on Friday morning Eastern Daylight Time. This means that part of the world will see it later on Friday, part will see it earlier on Thursday, and the rest will see it exactly on time. :)
re: mendicantbias00 – Well, there’s a reason why Ferial is so well-versed. ;-)
Ferial is, to put it politely, extremely confident. He knows what he’s about and he know how to go about getting what he wants. He’s also very calculating, so he feels like he can afford a certain level of smugness. I love writing his character. :)
I did. I really don’t know why I thought it was a ‘u’ instead of an ‘e’.
re: Bearded Phantom – I thought it would be a nice change of pace in the dialogue and a revelation of another side of Ferial. You should have seen me last night working on today’s comic; I spent about 45 minutes laboring over that first bit of doggerel trying to make up something that would span across the first two or three panels. I finally gave up and rewrote that section a bit. :)

Sempiturnal? The first time I’ve had to refer to a dictionary for a long time. And what a dictionary it was. Oxford Ultimate Edition, 8,000,000 words. 10 volumes.

Oh, which number is this guy (in relation to all the other seven, and Resplendent Legacy)?
For Fan Fiction #4, of course.

I love the poetry. It just adds immensely to Ferial’s cocky arrogance. =]

re: Shu Sam Chen (HSAR) – Super reinforced shelves to support all that weight, right? ;
)And what makes you think Sempiternal Chaos is part of the Cavalcade and not some other errant AI? ;) No, it’s fairly safe to reveal this bit – SC is #6.
re: Matoro3311 – I’m pleasantly surprised at the positive reactions to the poetry in this installment. :-D

Oh, no. We bound them in half-inch steel and hang them from a electromagnetic crane.

hey i no im not one of the usual comment guys, but i avnt seen this before and iv just read all of them in one block, just want 2 say I think its awesome, im now officially hooked
I love ferial’s arrogance, for me that makes the ultimate villain, and I think you’ve captured the AIs manners really well, like the odd speech
keep up the good work

I am thoroughly enjoying this graphic novel, I’m interested to see where you take it. I do have a few questions for you TTL, since I am hoping to begin a Graphic Novel project of my own, please shoot me an E-mail if you have a moment or two free.

re: lilskii – Hey, I’m glad you liked Reclaimer enough to read through the archives. Stick around! Things are only going to get better from here! :)
re: Sangheilioz – Hehe, I’m interested to see where I take it, too. I’m along for the journey almost as much as you guys are. ;-)

As commented so many times above, beautiful use of poetry. Surprised only moderately describes one’s reaction to an alien iterating human poetry.
Although, it does add to his character… obviously, Ferail has been researching and plotting this for a while, and it also seems he wasn’t studying only the Cavalcade. Again, well-versed only adequately describes Ferail.
Maybe we should get Sam to look through his ultimate dictionary set and find some better adjectives to describe Ferail. Maybe something that means ‘near god-like’. Or close to that. ^^

I imagine forging those shield barrier things took a while. At least they took me a long time when I was making my own map, especially angling them so the fit perfectly into the walls.

I just looked through last weeks comments:
re: Uzi_Master – I did. I’d consider it more of a splash page than a comic, but it looks pretty nice.
Thanks for the “comics’” new titles: splash pages! I’ve been looking for something else to call them other than “free advertisements”. I gotta get me one of those dictionary sets HSAR has. =)

Great as always. i dont know how big of a comic book fan you are but your comics seem to remind me of Sandman/Lucifer.

Couldn’t return a result for godlike beyond divine/holy, etc.

re: Accursed – Well, Ferial has an even deeper background that we haven’t even begun to explore yet. :)
re: Uzi_Master – It actually didn’t take all that long to place those barriers. The hardest part was just figuring out how to get them inside the base. They’re so big that you can’t just generate one inside the base. You have to generate it outside and then drag it through one of the doors. :)
re: Uzi_Master – ‘Splash page.’ It’s a favorite term from web design. “Take it, my son, and use it wisely.” ;-)
re: ReverendTiki – That, my friend, is quite possibly the highest compliment you can pay me, say thankya. I’m a huge fan of Sandman and Gaiman’s work. I’ve not checked it Lucifer yet, but I’ll certainly add it to my preferred reading list.

Ooh some nice references to the level Sierra 117 there.
