omg nooooooo….this comic was simply amazing until that last sentence “i killed you myself.” come on, the master chief is the master chief, he dosn’t/can’t die we all know this lol
perhaps a MC is a memory that the defensive AI is pulling from the reclaimers past? and what mission could MC be talking about? probably from the past and thats why he is just standing there frozen in place? nice job on the switch back to normal view all the shots keep with the continuity!! i want to know what the AI thought MC was… o and why does the AI speech have a gray box around it in frame one?
oops thats why my gravatar doesnt work
re: crimsonrain117 – Hehe, and I’m gonna make you guys wait all weekend to find out what the heck the Reclaimer means by that. Just bear in mind that very little about Outpost 77 is as it seems.
re: PikminGod – Occasionally I put gray boxes behind the AI’s dialogue when the background is busy enough to make the text hard to read. It’s a selective thing, and I only put one in as necessary.
did you deliberately cover up the end of what Legacy was going to say in the middle left box? If so, then nice touch, I’m guessing that word would have revealed everything that is going on here? Also I’m looking forward to a back story about the chief and reclaimer,if there’s one coming
@crimsonrain117
You also have to remember that this is set in an alternate Haloverse…not the one that we all know by heart.
nice plot twist Jim!
@ mendicantbias00 – i was just about to post that
I sense a flashback coming on
on a side note, are there covenant in this haloverse? i don’t remember seeing them.
Oh, BTW, when I first read the title of this comic, I thought that Reclaimer was going to admit that he IS master chief XD
re: lilskii – I did. It’s a nice effect when you want to convey that one individual has been cut off by another.
re: mendicantbias00 – Thanks! I’m glad you like. I pretty much expected expressions of outrage that I could dare to kill off the MC.
re: Rosco128 – Yup, brief flashback is forthcoming.
There are Covenant in this universe. I believe there have been some subtle references to them in previous comics. But in this Haloverse, humanity and the Covenant came to a peace agreement well before the Covenant destabilized in the Bungie canon. As such, the Covenant do not play a significant role in this story arc in the Reclaimerverse.
And the Master Chief as the Reclaimer – now that would have been a nice plot twist. Too bad it isn’t true.
OMGS!! It r Chief! Now Legacy will be confused!Maybe Reclaimer killed him to completely get rid of all previos(spelled right?) Spartans.Ya know, out with the old,in with the new?
“A hero never dies…”
this story has just gotten soo cool!! by the way can you actually have the chief in your comic because of all the legal stuff?Just askin’ Great work by the way! Keep it up!
MC is a rank so anyone can be MC
re: Mysterioso2006 – You’re trying to make it sound like the Reclaimer is the bad guy. It ain’t like that.
Call it… ‘extentuating circumstances,’ and let’s go from there.
re: Chanchu Mohan – I can. This still falls easily under the Game Content Usage Rules, especially with my treatment of an alternate Haloverse.
re: PikminGod – Technically, that’s true, but the rank of Master Chief carries with it a special meaning in the Haloverse, especially among the Spartan ranks. So, it’s safe to assume that ‘Master Chief’ in this comic refers exactly to the hero we’ve all come to know and love.
Let me take a guess here.
Spartan Program II, long before the Fall of Reach. The Reclaimer was just one of the Spartans. He and John (MC) got into a fight. Seeing as this is an alternate Haloverse, he killed Master Chief, thus ushering in the need for more Spartans, hence the Viper program. Interesting.
That and, well, MC isn’t real. It’s an illusion made to scare the crap out of him. Nice twist though!
Oh, and this is just a guess. Make sure to twist it up, don’t get too predictable.
re: JimboMonkey1234 – No, no – I love seeing everyone’s guesses, speculations, and predictions. But never fear – I have no shortage of twists and turns ahead, the story of the Reclaimer and the MC not being the least of them.
Wha-what?! MC?!! Ohh dang this is getting good. I’m guessing a showdown is about to commence?
You never cease to amaze, Jim. Looking forward to the next comic.
damn me and my forgetful memory >.> well im back
and all the comics i missed are definitely up to standard of the older ones Jim
good work
Hold on, when looking at H3 campaign screenshots, the MC doesn’t have light green armor, it’s more dark green.
@Shu, that’s the lighting, the campaign tends to have darker environments.
re: Sangheilioz – Thanks, man. I aim to please.
re: EinEngel – Welcome back! And hey, just tune in to the daily news updates on halo.bungie.org to find out about new updates.
re: Shu Sam Chen (HSAR) – I used the darkest green available as an armor color for multiplayer, and that’s what you get.
i love how he still sas “sir” to the chief – you cant not respect the chief
re: KeptRobbie84 – Aye, that you do.
