I bet he could truly strike MC if he pulled out a rocket launcher.
This comic reminds me of all the cliched Kung Foo movies I have watched.
“the power lies deep within you young one!”
Will MC be Reclaimer’s mentor on all things awesome.
PS: F I R S T
This so reminds me of Starwars: A new hope Strike him down Reclaimer and use the force muhahaha!
Jim, he’s still minus the secondary sniper rifle.
I think it’s time to show us some of those secret abilities hidden in that armour.
“Reclaimer,...I am your Father”
Excellent comic, keep it up.
Jim, you need to give RC your wonderfully hated ability to stick MC with a plasma! Interesting… it seems that this comic proves that MC is more than just a spartan, with his power or intelligence lying outside his body. Might RC have to use guile and destroy some aspect of the installation to cause damage?
@ hitokirix-QFT.
MC:Join me,and together we can RULE this outpost as spartan and son!
RC:I’ll never join you!
MC:If only you knew the POWER of the plot twist!
How can reclaimer blame MC of shooting to much?He was the one getting angry and doing nothing but shooting for the last 3 comics!Seriously,Jim,Please explain RCs out-of-wack-unproffesional-behavior!Its driving me crazy!
Just as I made a comment about the MC not firing on RC, he just has to light up the shields.
BEAT DOOOOOOOWWWWWN!!!!!!!!!
I sense a disturbance in the force… A Star Wars reference is nearby…
I hope RC beats that sucka down real good, “i cant take any more cryptic dialogue there cap’n”
mysterious….
Dang, where’s the sword when you need one? Glowing shish kabob…...
But I have noticed that MC is only pinging one round off of RC and not the full burst. Again it reinforces the theory that MC is pushing the RC towards a specific destination.
Much unprofessionalism in this guy, there is.
OOOH!
Eh….I’m strating to lose interest….GASP.
M
Be careful RC.
Pushing yourself too far leads to unprofessionalism
Unprofessionalism leads to Crankiness
Crankiness leads to killing friends
Killing friends is a path to the dark side.
Mind your feelings.
Its been now 16 comments(including this one),and jim hasnt posted yet.Wonder whats goin on?He usually posts for ever 5 or so.
he is still on VACA DUH!
i wonder what he wants him to do to “Truly stike”
o and if RC really is a super bad-ass militarily trained soldier, he would never turn his back on his opponent as he does in panel 5…imo
Happy Birthday Jim! I think!
Reclaimer, use a more elegant weapon for a more civilized time!
By that I mean stick him in the Cr0tch!
@Someguy
Brilliant. I literally just fell out of my chair from laughter.
I’d say that MC wants RC to attack him with this untapped power we’ve been hearing about, which will free MC (who i suspect is actually a cavalcade AI) from whatever constraints he’s under.
@ Mysterioso2006
Maybe it’s because he cant make cryptic replies to the rabble we’re coming up with…
Oh and by the way, please don’t think that I have no life and post at 2am. I live in Australia which gives me a MASSIVE advantage at posting.
It is now 4:00PM
I know! MC wants RC to teabag him! It all makes sense!
@Jimbo:
I seriously fell out of my chair and started rofling at that.
re: Shu Sam Chen (HSAR) – Ok, I’m back from vacation now and ready to re-enter the real; world. Thanks for looking after tie place while I was gone.
A fair few of you complained about the lack of Reclaimer’s professionalism. Understand that his circumstances are such that he is a jaded, burned-out soldier of fortune who has been reluctantly pulled into a mystery that he’s not even sure is worth fighting to uncover. He has no superiors, no authority figure to report to, so no system of checks to which he needs to remain professional. Subsequently, what you end up seeing is a man on the edge just trying to get through another day and survive the current ordeal. He doesn’t have the time or energy to deal with anything so trivial as ‘professionalism.’
@Jim: Ahh… thanks. I missed you, man. There was this Jim-shaped space in the comments till now.
Welcome back Jim, Happy Birthday.
yes, but being a trained soldier RC would instinctively not turn his back to an opponent…that would be like you holding your breath and passing out without realizing you werent breathing…its not possible
@Pikmin: Just… OK. Fine. We get it. But if you’d been under fire continously for the last 20 minutes, on a mission you’re not sure about, would you be absolutely certain you would remember everything any person had ever taught you?
The RC’s under stress here. For all you know, he might even have EMP spazzing out his suit!
Welcome home, Jim. You’ve been missed.
@ shu sam chen
yes…thats when you remember it most…tactics under-fire is the most highly trained part of combat…and at 20 minutes your adrenaline hasn’t even peaked…maybe at 3 hours of CONSTANT fighting…you might mis-load a weapon, or fumble with something, but no well-trained soldier would EVER turn his back on an enemy, even if retreating
The RC hasn’t fully completed his training, right? He was interrupted in a training exercise designed to establish his capabilities before training could begin.
Here’s the 411 – the Reclaimer was once a Spartan, before he was recruited into the Reclaimer program. So, PikminGod is correct in that he has the tactical training to know better than to turn his back on an enemy. However, as a Spartan-turned-Reclaimer, he’s also very, very intelligent. He is aware that the MC wants to help and was able to determine that from the outset. He also knows the limits of his shields. Pair these two facts, and it was his tactical decision to favor speed and vulnerability for a moment over sound tactics and a stronger retreat. What the Reclaimer has to do at this point is determine what it will take to bring the MC to a fully cooperative state.
“a fully cooperative state” – In thinking about that phrase I get the feeling that it will not be a physical altercation to induce that state. I think it will be more of a mental advancement, like a change in the way RC needs to think about the situation he is in.
More theories….........
I was thinking along those same lines Jim. What PikminGod is saying is true about a soldier not turning their back, we have no experience with a super soldier who has a recharging shield.
Jim, is RC comparable to a Spartan II or III? Or should we not worry about it. I would guess a Spartan II because from what I remember the III’s didn’t have a shielded combat suit, but that could be wrong.
Perhaps the physical altercation will end at a computer panel? I am curious, RC fired the first shots… Does this action have any effect on his attitude toward MC? Could a cease fire be in order to get this cooperation? MC is only defending himself really.
Subject remains within field of play.
You know, I think we’ve got the longest comment list in Reclaimer history here.
I think it’s even longer than the time John Kenyon, me and Jim were having (almost) real-time conversations using the comments.
Good days, eh, Jim?
re: Shu Sam Chen (HSAR) – It’s actually not. There have been a couple of installments that have had more than this, and I believe one where we topped 60+ comments.
Well, lets make it 40. And just so this isn’t seen as spam, what map is Outpost 77 taking place in or is it taken from several maps? I don’t have Halo 3 so I am not up to date on the maps.
@Distefant=Outpost 77 takes place on a map called High Ground, specifically in the base.
Along with this comic, I am reading two other Haloverse fan fiction stories, found on Bungie.net.
Goddamn, I am such a nerd. But a Halo nerd!
