I’m sure by now that a lot of you have probably seen this video. If not, then take a look. If these are things that Bungie is bringing down the Pike for Halo 3, then this is going to mean very, very good things for Reclaimer. I’ve wanted to be able to add some NPC-type characters to the comic for awhile now, and even be able to make custom maps – and it looks like we’ll be getting that opportunity soon. I can’t wait to see what all Bungie has up their sleeves for us!

Yeah, I’m really jazzed about this too. It would have saved me a lot of time in Photoshop on my last project.
The hardcore fraggers are betting it’s AI bots in multiplayer. But with Cortana, Keyes and Johnson in the stable of models, I think it’s aimed more at the creative community. Maybe it will be both.
re: ChromeRatt – I could see the addition of AI into custom games being a real challenge, when you have to think about an additional level of threat. But I love Love LOVE the potential to be able to work these into creative works. I suspect – and hope – that Bungie is covering all fronts with this and will allow us to toggle the functionality of AI units.
Now, why couldn’t they have released this about three weeks ago? I could have really used the Chief in this last sequence.
The whole time I’m watching the clip I thinking that the models don’t interact with player. The Flood tank form did make a swatting motion, but it wasn’t clear that this was triggered by the player movement. But when the player model bumped into Keyes and she actually responded with a flinch and an “UMPF” I about jumped out of my chair with joy! That will be huge.
Here’s hoping they add models for marines, ODST and dare we dream, Dr. Halsey.
i hope you can toggle whether or not they react to players…like attack them!! this may explain the video they showed during the gphoria awards also!!
re: ChromeRatt – I’m thinking Dr. Halsey would be a reach. That’d be a definite compromise to the Halo story bible. But I will curious to see what they include.
sadly Reclaimer is the closest i get to playing halo much anymore. I barely even play anything on the 360 much. It would make the game play much more enjoyable with bots though, Jim and i could actually play together instead of destroying each other!
