Or… Jim (as always) has another trick up his sleeve that completely defies any and all theories that his fans have come up with. Either way, I say again to you, sir. I both love and hate you intensely…
i know, but how could he get past the console…its not that you used it its just a line that appears in a lot of military fiction and i always dislike it…but i still like you…what abuot the light thing
This vaguely reminds me of a level from Halo 2, where as the Arbiter you have to detatch several supports and then “remove the power source from its cradle” to power down part of the barrier surrounding the Library on Delta Halo. Of course, then you had to deal with flood and not something (more) creepy saying “NEEEEEEEWWWWWW REEPLIIICAAATE!”
By the way, is that supposed to be “new replicate” or “new replicant”?
@ the silver fox – The title is supposed to be “Replicant.” The word actually uttered in the comic is ‘replicate.’ Does that change the way you interpret events?
@ This Guy…. – Thanks! And I’m guessing you found the RSS feed. ;-)
Just to be sure, I looked up the word “replicant”, and this is what I found on MSN’s Encarta Dictionary:
.
.
.
“replicant
rep·li·cant [ répplikənt ] (plural rep·li·cants)
noun
Definition:
half-human, half-technological being: especially in science fiction, an imaginary being that has been constructed from organic and computerized components to look like a human being.
See also: cyborg”
I would say this could have somsthing to do with the dark matter generator mentioned in HSAR’s fan fiction #8… if it really does apply (I know you can’t confirm or deny this theory, HSAR)
Jim, you should get recon for this comic. Seriously, Bungie should just give it to you for doing such a good job with weaving a convoluted, conspiracy-filled plot with Halo. (“Oh, what a tangled web [you] weave, when first [you] practice to decieve”) Keep it up.
@ the silver fox – No, actually ‘replicate’ is being used as a verb here. Don’t necessarily assume that the two words go together. ;-)
@ DeathGrunty – Thanks, man. I’m glad you found us and hope you’ll stick around! :)
@ the silver fox – Thanks for the vote of confident, fox! If ever I receive Recon, you guys will be among the first to know, since it will find its way into the Reclaimer storyline. :)
@ the silver fox cries but, but I said that first! Tell him, Jim! (sobs. everyone else starts laughing and calling me a sissy)
On another note, this comic is still @%$?ing awesome. Every moment is interesting. I tell ya, this is going to make a heck of a machinima!
THAT definitely changes my interpretation, and explains why the Viper soldier’s response is broken up. Something “new,” probably the soldier, is entering some certain space, and something is going to be “replicated.” Only question is: what?

I know I’m the one who wrote those lines, but all I can actually hear in my head is, “Braaaaaiiiiins. BRAAAAAAIIIIIIIINS!” :-P
September 5th, 2008 at 9:19 am
OH, os NOW the lights are back off…wonder if this has something to do with HSAR’s fan fiction #8…..........
September 5th, 2008 at 10:39 am
I (HSAR) at this time cannot confirm or deny that I had advance knowledge of this, or planned FF08 with prior knowledge of said comic, Replicate.
September 5th, 2008 at 10:42 am
Replicate…. So we’re going to be seeing some Viper clones? Hmm…
September 5th, 2008 at 11:12 am
i’m confused…i would have assumed the lights would have gone out in the 4th frame, but they did not…why?
”... and where do you think you’re going” i would just like to say that i hate this line…it rubs me all the wrong ways
September 5th, 2008 at 11:20 am
@ Sangheilioz – Or….
@ PikminGod – Um, I’m… sorry? The squad leader assumed his soldier stepped into the energy field willingly.

I think Ferial has no more need for Viper…...
That, or a giant muffin.

Yes, a little. At first it didn’t make sense because I felt it was bad grammer, but now I see: “replicate” is used as a noun, not a verb.
Something tells me this might be more than just a power station.
September 5th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
i would have to agree with both someguy and this guy and i dont mean the muffin part though that would be both weird and hilarious

Very nice comic, excilent plot. Recently found this and read it from the start, when I got the chance, and gotta say keep up the good work! =D
September 5th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
but what is going to be the replicant?!!!!! will viper dude be duplicated? or more heinous will viper dude become something else entirely?!

September 7th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
@ Silver fox, another question would be “Why?”
September 7th, 2008 at 6:28 pm
@ PikminGod I believe the lights died in Frame 5 because the tunnel is dark.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:30 pm
@ Amer then00b – Yeah, I’m looking forward to machinimizing Reclaimer. Hopefully, I’ll be able to start thinking about that soon.
@ Chanchu Mohan – Sorry to hear that, but I’m glad you’ve got your priorities in the right place. We’ll be here for whenever you’re able to read. :)
@ the silver fox – There you go. :)
@ Distefant – Also an extremely valid question.
@ Leonidas117 – Or, the lights could have gone out because the power was cut in that area.
