Sorry about the missed comic on Friday. I spent the weekend in Louisville and so wasn’t able to get any work done on Reclaimer (though I did take quite a lot of pictures for my photoblog). I’ve also noticed that a lot of comments have been posted since Wednesday, and I’m going to make a concerted effort to get caught up on those.

So the Cavalcade members do give him a small advantage in combat, interesting… Good comic Jim, though I was hoping for a more… intense fight sequence.
2nd!
Ya Sangheilioz is right, it seems the Calvacade don’t offer any combat help. Shame really.
Haha. Nice reference to HSAR’s fanfic. Great comic as always, Jim!
Ah I see what you did there.
Looking forward to Reclaimers hopefully explosive escape…...
Is it just me, or does that text in Viper’s dialogue imply that something bad has happened?
Hey looks like we are going to get to know Viper-1 in person
The dialogue in the first frame about “adjusting the parameters”... that wasn’t affected in any way by FF13, was it?
Love it… love it! The RC’s dry sarcasm always cheers me up. ‘Specially since it’s raining and grey outside.
@ Sangheilioz – Me, too. :-\ I promise you, though, I’ll have a better fight sequence soon.
@ Shu Sam Chen (HSAR) – And what if it was?
“Instead of using the tank, warthog chaingun, or hornet, lets run right at the enemy, guns blazing and throwing masses of grenades, in the hope that while he is conversing with the AI in his armour that we have no idea about, he will be distracted long enough for us to sneak behind him!”
Jim, your logic is impeccable. Jokes haha, just saying that every item in a scene needs to be there for a reason.
@Jim: Oh, nothing… goes off and celebrates
Jim, little anti-climactic but it leads to some interesting conflict and information as we hopefully get to learn what Viper is up to.
Does anyone else read what the Viper’s is saying and hear Cobra Commander’s voice in their head? Maybe it’s the font that is used.
Ooch, did I just date myself there or what.
Liking!
I hear a virus-infected person speaking; check the font against that used in “Divide and Conquer”
Oh! Things look bad(!)
I’d say with several AIs in his head, we’ll probably end up with another RvB: Reconstruction-type thing….

@Distefant
Now that you mention it, that is EXACTLY how I read that… Old folks unite!
My, my… sucks for Reclaimer
how many influences were there on this comic?
imo being captured is a good thing, he can use their records to find out where some other cavalcada may be!
good to see RC’s armor is back to normal
Hey, Viper only threw one grenade. That means they aren’t a bunch of ‘nade spamming n00bs.
“How to use a grenade properly: throw at enemy so it explodes and strips their shields. Then, headshot them. It’s a legitimate strategy.”
Yah, it was a wee bit anticlimactic. Not really an insult, it’s just not really your thing. And besides, as an ametuer comic writer/illustrator, I know how hard it is to balance action and story in fight sequences. Welcome back, Jim! six to go!
interesting, the last viper to use that font “Divide and Conquer” was blue, beta squad or something like that. Is this the same Guy? Or are you guys saying that the replicated one is working through these vipers?
@Bearded Phantom – It might be the virus at work, although I would think that Jim would have hinted at that before.
I have to imagine that Viper would have fought amongst themselves as it tried to take them over to where some of them would have been killed. Although, the Cavalcade did say that the virus would have easily taken over RC’s armor if they were not there to stop it.
If it was the virus, it moved really fast.
Just thoughts and ramblings.
Well, I would assume Viper would have been keeping communications with each other, and so the virus could have been carried on those signals. I don’t think Viper would have fought each other as the virus took them over, as Jim said that the Beta Squad member was under control of the virus before he could react.
And just one thought: that “boss” might not be Viper One. If it is, and if they are infected, they have retained a surprising amout of their own personalities.
Also, if FF#13 is anything to go by, the Cavalcade could have been talking about the virus when they said this area is “enemy controlled”.
Another question, is viper there to attempt to use the gates to their advantage? Or is it even possible that they are there by coincidence? Does Ferial have plans for Reclaimer being captured? This could get really interesting!
Or they could have entirely no idea and they just happened to be driving through in a heavily armed convoy…
You know, a kind of sci-fi Drive-Thru? Free meals, find us by the huge Forerunner structure?
Do we realy have any idea what has been going on in the Vipers? The last thing we got was the bit about going out to find what wasn’t supposed to be there. After that we have been following other story lines.
I feel sorry for Viper. I coulden’t think of a worse fate then being erased by a virus…
Ahhh…! they’re zombies!!! Incite zomby attack plan alpha!!!
This remindes me of the infection game type.
I wonder if jim could incorporate the infection symbols on a hud type point of view comic?
Assuming they are even infected.
I honestly don’t think that a HUD type view would be appropriate for this, but it would be interesting, maybe like looking through Ferial’s eyes as he lurks in the shadows watching all this occur. and congratulations on reaching 100, and i’m looking forward to the next 100. Great work Jim!
