This is actually the second script I wrote for today’s comic, which is a complete rewrite of the original. After completing today’s comic, I realized that the dialogue did not fit the context at all, but since it did reveal one or two major plot points, I opted to postpone it, rather than scrapping it altogether. The disadvantage I ran into was that Monday’s comic closed with a cliffhanger that was supposed to lead into my original script for today, so I had figure out how the Reclaimer would handle the situation to so that a slight change of pace would fit and seem at least somewhat natural. Hopefully, I did a passable job.
I should also mention that there is now a kickass Reclaimer wallpaper available in the downloads section in a variety of sizes.

that guy on the wing in panel four, how did he get there? he isnt there in the previous panels, nor in the last one. did he jump up, fire a shot, then hop off?
Actually that’s reclaimer and it only looks like he’s on the wing. If he was on the wing, he would be a lot bigger.
Great comic, explosions FTW!!
I was wondering when the tank was going to do something, it’s just been sitting there so far.
Maybe they’re having a coffee break?
Personally, though, I think the RC is doing a bit too much talking to be feasible. It’s not really likely that one would go into a battle situation and have enough concentration to talk and aim and dodge, etc. at the same time.
Dude, He’s Reclaimer. He can do that. XD
He’s attacking a hornet with a battle rifle? Smooth. xD
Breech? I think you mean Breach Jim…
Unless Reclaimer is about to be born buttocks first…

And is that a bubble shield I see in panel 3?
Great comic Jim.
@ Minocc – That’s the Reclaimer, and it just looks like he’s up on the wing, due a weird trick of angle and zoom.
@ Shu Sam Chen (HSAR) – Apparently you don’t play much Team Slayer.
Actually, I do know that it’s possible to be involved in battle and still carry on limited conversation. It’s not like the Reclaimer is talking about much more at the moment than surviving the current encounter. You’ll notice that it’s the Cavalcade doing most of the talking, especially in the last panels, while the Reclaimer focuses on avoiding enemy fire.
@ BFish – Typo fixed. Gotta love that English language confuzzling the mind with its many different spellings.
And no, that’s actually the impact blast of the tank round. It actually creates a sphere of energy around its impact point. It’s pretty cool to watch in slow motion.
I play lots of Team Slayer. Unfortunately, the only people I’ve ever heard speaking are eight-year-old noobs who swear incessantly.
Such is the life of a rank 25 Team Slayer player.
I can hold a conversation and play team slayer. It normally goes back and forth between random curse words/locations of enemies and the actual conversation, but It’s not that difficult.
Yeah, but that’s H3. It’s unlikely to be the same when going solo against two vehicles capable of killing you in a single hit.
I’ve been in Reclaimer’s position before… and won. Granted, I had a bubble shield, a laser, and was able to board the tank…
Regardless, great comic Jim, I’m loving the action here!
Reclaimer, I wanna see some boarding action! Just use like a last burst of energy thing, and jump onto the tank! Then, get in, blow up the hornet, get back in the goose, and job well done! While that is more risky, its better than waisting your sheilds and ammo on a BR!
When does Reclaimer get to board the Hornet and take out Viper-1? And perhaps more importantly, how? Does he take a page from Terminator 2 and ramp a mongoose (since he doesn’t have a motorcycle), leap out, and board the Hornet? Or does he rocket jump (or grenade jump, or jump off the blast from the Scorpion’s shell)? Or do the Cavalcade suddenly give him super jumping ability? Or does Viper-1 fly too low in an attempt to splatter Reclaimer? Or…that’s enough questions for now.
personally i like the arrogance of Viper 1 in the last suggestion, works with his profile
i love comics that dont advance the plot at all…or do i? great comic though jim i like it
@ Shu Sam Chen (HSAR) – Get hooked up with an actual team and you’ll find that communication improves significantly.
And it’s actually quite a bit more likely than you think that soldiers can have some limited communication during combat. It’s essential that they do, actually, though of course pretty much all that communication is geared toward the objective and survival. The Reclaimer here has the advantage that the Cavalcade is providing him with some limited amount of defensibility, but that can’t last so naturally he’s quite focused on stretching out his advantage as long as possible.
@ PikminGod – Well, tomorrow’s comic is just for you, then.
