Hah. Hornet got owned.
I guess the Wallpaper sort of spoiled it though…
Jim, this is out a little early, isn’t it? Or do you live somewhere where they don’t do daylight saving time, like Indiana?
the silver fox: No, Indiana does DST now. I just forgot to adjust the time zone settings on the site itself. I’ll adjust it here shortly.
Woohoo go Reclaimer!
hehe the dialogue in the 5th frame is a bit… dunno how to describe it but i think you could have worded it better i.e. ‘im lighter on my feet which means…. I can jump higher’
dunno
other then that still looking as good as ever
Nice; I guess Viper is in a world of hurt now that RC has the Hornet…
DST just changed for us. No problemo.
... plenty of scope for FF14 2/2, incidentally. Thanks a lot.
Watch that first step when exiting…............it’ll trip you up every time.
Nice one Jim.
As always, brilliant. It’ll be interesting to see how RC does against the tank, or if he even fights it…
The rockets on that darn hornet are wicked powerful, as RC is a smart character i am sure the tank will be hosed if he so desires.
I am interested on when the glass canopy on the hornet shattered Jim, is this a side effect of hijacking?
@Bearded Phantom: Not really. For me, That hornet would be dead before it launched two pairs of missiles at me.
I would have taken the tank. . . Problem is, it has six pedals and there are only four directions.
@ Bearded Phantom- Probably just a cool little effect jim threw in there.
Sorry I forgot 106, life has been especially hard on my free time lately. Does anyone know who is the dude with recon? Like, does jim have it? Or did he ask Igyuana or somethin to help?
@Bearded Phantom – Nope, that’s in game effects.
So…where’d you get the Recon? Some fancy editing, perhaps, or a friend?
@ Jim: Aye, that would do it.
@ mysterioso2006 and Jimbomonkey1234: Jim had one of his friends from Tied The Leader who has recon play Viper-1 (otherwise known as Jenkins). This was discussed a few comics back.
Bearded Phantom: It’s a side-effect of hijacking the Hornet. The hijacker automatically smashes out the canopy in order to grab the pilot and yank them out.
mysterioso2006: The “dude” with the Recon is one of my fellow Gunslingers who helped me shoot the film for this action sequence.
Shoulda gotten a shot where he punches out the windshield, Jim. Would have cleared it up quite a bit!
Sangheilioz: Oh, man – there was a whole sequence of shots right in that couple of seconds that all looked awesome. I actually had to trim them down quite a bit and just pick and choose a couple. That’s the only real problem with doing a comic like this – it’s hard to do justice to action sequences. Consider this all part of the learning curve. Hopefully, the next action sequence will be composed a little better.
Wow, great comic. I love the way you’ve made the dialog match the pressure put on Reclaimer in combat. Also, all the shots are great and bring something to the comic. The way you can see the bullets hitting RL in the face, awesome.
I hate the way skyjacking look sin halo 3…it looks like the guy is suddenly paralyzed and just letting you throw him out of the bird…as seen in image (insert image number)
Nevets 91: Thanks, man. I have to admit – it’s kind of difficult trying to get static images to reflect the pace of a battle (and I’ve tried to use reader criticism over the last few days to hone that kind of writing a bit). So it’s gratifying to have at least one reader remark that it’s working.
PikminGod: Yeah, it is pretty static, and I’m not a huge fan of it my own self. Unfortunately, them’s the limitations, as they say, of the Halo 3 engine. Honestly, I think it’d be cool if the hijacking process was more interactive – if, say, pilots had a chance to block a hijacking, and if the animation could reflect such a battle. It would add a whole new level of complexity to the game, and make for some really cool images for machinima and comics.
@ Jim- Hey..I noticed! Yes.. it is greatly enhanced. Now it seems like the diologue is coming from the battle, intead as from outside it, like it seemed. I am also glad that the cavalcada in his head aren’t making unnesesary comments about something about the todash gates that are in the structure…it takes from the action!
No back-seat killing is allowed!
Jacked! Wow! I've read 107 comics in one sitting. My brain hurts from all the plot twists! This is amazing so far. I can't wait to get all caught up!
(first?)
I'm always impressed by you guys who read through the entirety of the archives in one sitting. That's quite a lot to wade through at this point.
Yeah, but I had a snow day and my 360 got the RRoD so I have nothing better to do all day. Also, I wrote first because my browser didn't show all the other replies until now
Yeah, there have been some bugs with the Intense Debate commenting system periodically hiding previous comments. The issue seems to be worked out now, though.
I, having admittedly having not played my Halo 3 in forever, didn't know hornets were in Valhalla.
