Notice the quotation marks around it? It means that it is emphasised and therefore does not have the intended meaning. "Curing" the Flood is blasting the crap out of them.

I think gravemind got greedy! and the reason the forerunners got owned was because they tried to accept the flood… treat it equally. and all it did was kill them. it took them a bit to wizen up =)

And killed their Gravemind and all the Flood that had escaped when we destroyed the Ark. The rest are presumably trapped on other Halos hibernating, like these ones were before we woke them up. You know, it's sorta strange how one lone super Marine can stop the destruction of our galaxy and kill/stop the two most evil races humanity has ever come across

Well, the blast was about the size of a 50 megaton nuclear bomb (A.K.A .MASSIVE), it was about half a mile from Jones, he was thrown about 200 miles in his fridge, and he survived the impact.
Okay, that is just implausible. The radiation alone would have fried him inside the fridge the heat wave from the blast would have turned him into roast Jones and the kinetic force from being thrown so far so fast would have flattened him on impact. How stupid X(
