I'm guessing that the street date for D&D's Players Handbook 3 isn't strict because I'm seeing it on store shelves already. 3 hrs ago

Website News – Update

I’m frustrated. As with anything technical, anytime you make sweeping changes, it’s inevitable that’s something’s going to fail somewhere along the line.

Yesterday, I upgraded the Reclaimer website and every site on the Halo 3 Webcomics webring to the latest version of WordPress, i.e. 2.8. The initial test installs I ran worked out perfectly well, so I was confident enough to try upgrading on the rest of the sites. The upgrade on the Reclaimer site appeared to work, so I moved on and gave the H3W sites the same treatment. Yesterday evening, I noticed, however, that the Reclaimer site was displaying posts incorrectly. Comics files weren’t showing up on single pages, news items were being rolled into the comics navigation, and the archives were a mess. None of the H3W sites have had this problem. I was puzzled by the problem. I still am. I’ve no idea what would cause the Reclaimer to fail so badly when the other sites are all working as they ought.

I’m not the only one with this problem. Checking the ComicPress forums, I see that there are quite a few others with the same problems. The current solution at the moment is to downgrade WordPress installations back to WordPress 2.7.1, which I’ve done here on the Reclaimer site. I have not downgraded any of the sites on the H3W webring, since they all seem to be working properly. I will not try to upgrade here again until I know that a solution has been found. It seems clear to me that the problem lies somewhere in either the ComicPress theme, the ComicPress Manager plugin, or both.

In the meantime, if anyone notices any additional problems, either here on the Reclaimer site or on any of the sites on the H3W webring, please let me know by commenting here.
