There is a Reclaimer comic forthcoming today, but in the meantime, I need some help. I’m looking for a good music track, something that’s just drums but with a driving beat. You remember the drum rhythm from Battlestar Galactica during those brief flash-forward sequences that gave the little previews of the upcoming episodes? I want something like that, only longer, minimum of one minute. Anyone have any recommendations?

Heh battle star galactica maybe? :p Are you already getting into the swing of things with the machinima?
You could google some links…
I'm thinking about starting out with a Reclaimer trailer – lots of little clips with a driving drum beat behind it. Trouble is, I need a good audio track.
You might like my schools percussion ensamble, but I dont have a recording. Sorry.
Searching my music archives already.
I really like Star Breath by Yello, but it's just not quite right for what I need.
Unfortunately, I didn't find anything with only drums. However, "Perilous Journey" from the Halo 1 OST is more or less that. I've never watched Battlestar Galactica so I don' know which track you're referring to.
Yeah, I'm trying to find something a little less familiar to the Halo community.
Couldn't find anything with just drums.
This track, maybe?

I think I've found the track I'm going to use, but can you point me at
the original site for that mp3? It's intriguing.
If you need a voice and its possible, id still love to lend my voice.
Thanks. I'll let you know. I'm not even close to that point yet.
Except for copyright details (and they are significant), you might check out the theme and background music for LAPD season 1.
I have one I think it's free. I'll leave the link here if you're interested in looking at it, but I'll email the song that I got, its the same thing. It's really long but you should be able to cut the bits that you don't want. You're welcome I stayed up until 2am looking for this
Here it is!

I think ur link is busted…
It's fine.
Weird
Grifball tank remix on RT. Perfect.
Upon extended consideration, i have decided that reqium for a dream would be more suited to your needs. Upon even more consideration, I have decided that I approve of pants.
Link?
I have no idea. It was a joke anyway.
Figures.
I have the feeling you already knew that.
i have a suggestion, but it has a little more than just drums

i cant find a clip of just the audio sadly, because i Love this tune
I can't offer anything specific, but do a search for "Taiko Drumming". Sound like what you're looking for.
Yeah, I've listened to quite a bit of Taiko today. Also, African, Latin, Greek, Arabian… the list goes on. I haven't found any one thing that's exactly what I want. Makes me wish I had the ability to mix a bunch of different styles and then record the result in a professional studio.
Audacity dude.
I was more referring to an original composition.
Drum kit dude.
You might actually get away with FL studio.
Check the Kodo drummers of Japan. They should have something that fits the bill.
Bingo!
Where's the comic, Jim?
Look for it sometime tomorrow. I wasn't able to get to it today.
The first sign…
Yeah, I know what you mean…
Procrastinators of the world unite!...tomorrow
Haha
driving drums huh?
Hmm,

try 2.35 mins onwards.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cF8zc10ahR4
around 2.04 mins when the drummer does his drum solo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjxTTjJtXDA&fe…;
at time 1.00mins when the dancers start their feet. It may not be drums per say, but my music conductor once asked us to play the rhythm of the dancers for it sounded like sticks on the table.
But if i am supposing correct, what you would need is a drum rhythm commonly played as a practice stroke, which consist of a quaver (quarter note) and 2 semi quavers (eighth note) behind it. repeat this rhythm and accelerating the tempo should get you what you want.
Hope it helps
Videotape by radiohead would work but I suppose your going to stick to copyright laws.
You know how much the internet cares about copyright laws!
Um, yeah. Ethics, professionalism, etc. You might consider taking a few lessons.
Pfft ethics… meh. :p
I tend to think that if no money is being made off of it, and if full and clear credit is given, using intellectual properties of artists shouldn't be an issue. I mean, there are those who post entire songs to Youtube for the sake of sharing the music, so using a segment of a song or two couldn't be that much of an issue, if an issue at all.
I'm not sure if that's an insult or not…
you know what, screw ethics! This is a video game blog. WHo needs ethics when we've got violence and tits!
WOOO VIdeo Games!
O.K. I'll stop now.
Mona Lisa Overdrive from The Matrix
Copywrite may be a problem though.
Of course. Here it is:

The track I pointed to is the main theme for that project.
Hey, Hats-are, you mind if I use that track for my upcoming machinima if Jim doesn't call dibs.
Be my guest. There's also an interesting one that's actually a complete movie sound FX + talking and stuff, called Inbound Raid. Check it out!
