Bold slightly slumped before the Reclaimer.

BOLD

Hehehe...

BOLD

{gasp}

Bold looking a little weak in the knees.

BOLD

Is that the best you can do...

{wheeze}

BOLD

...Reclaimer? Or did you forget that a little thing like a shotgun at point-blank range isn't even enough to dent Viper armor?

The Reclaimer running out of the shielded room.

CAVALCADE

He has a point, Reclaimer.

RECLAIMER

Of course he does.

The Reclaimer now running back out into the larger room.

CAVALCADE

Well, then? Why DID you use a weapon on him if you knew that it would not work?

RECLAIMER

Portent, ask Tran if she got any readings from Bold's armor from that encounter.

INTUITIVE PORTENT

She did, Reclaimer. She could ascertain no obvious weaknesses.

RECLAIMER

Ok, how about not-so-obvious weaknesses?

INTUITIVE PORTENT

Only if you are able to explode the molecular makeup of matter into particles less than a micron in size each and then re-organize it on the other side of Bold's energy shield where it could actually do some damage.

RECLAIMER

Of course! Why didn't I think of that? It's so damn simple even a child should be able to do it.

RECLAIMER

Does Tran have any ideas for any OTHER miracles she'd like me to perform while I'm at it?

CAVALCADE

No--

Bold, standing just on the outside of the energy barrier, firing a battle rifle at the Reclaimer.

BOLD

But I do. How about the miracle of your death, Reclaimer? It's long overdue.

CAVALCADE

Reclaimer, need we remind you that your shields--

RECLAIMER

I know. Shut up.

RECLAIMER

I'm a little busy at the moment.

I'm liking all of this action, though I found that middle panel (#4) a little difficult to follow because of the layout.

    • Rav Raider

      I'm pretty sure it makes a Z.

      • Yukob

Ok. Yeah, that makes more sense. Thanks.

The comments just went strange. It was asking for an Avatar instead of Intense Database login and the order was reversed, then I refreshed, and all was good.

        • Jim Stitzel

Sometimes the IntenseDebate module doesn't load correctly. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it can lead to some weird behaviors.

          • SnowXing

I wonder if I should overpost again just to see it glitch up.

    • Jim Stitzel

Left to right, top to bottom. I even joined the Reclaimer's word bubbles to help make it clearer which order everything gets read in. ;)

  2. Rav Raider

Well that is a twist. Very nice job Jim. I also like the way you threw in that whole lather rinse repeat thing. Where did I see that yesterday?

    • Jim Stitzel

Yeah, that's become one of my favorite punchlines lately. Toss it in at random intervals and watch people's reactions. :)

      • SnowXing

        I smell a new shirt.

        It smells like mothballs.

  3. corvairluver

Nice as always Jim. But I am wondering, who threw that grenade in the last panel?

    • Jim Stitzel

Huh. I didn't even see that. :) I think it would have been the Reclaimer. Bold is obviously otherwise occupied in firing his rifle.

      • corvairluver

gotcha, that's what I thought. I wasn't too worried about it though, cause if a shotty to the face didn't do him in, a measly grenade wouldn't either.

      • SnowXing

Jim, to take that picture you've obviously played it in slomo, a whole exaggerated throwing motion would be hard to miss.

  4. Kaya_051

By the way everyone SHAT AP! HE BE BIZZY!

    • Jim Stitzel

Just as an FYI, I trimmed out the FIRST part of your comment. That's something I frown upon pretty heavily here.

      • Moni7or

        Uh…? Spam?

        • Jim Stitzel

Nawp, Kaya's been around here for a while. Dude just gets a little bit excited, is all. Kids, you know. :)

      • SnowXing

That's right, you can edit our posts.

That's mean my account wasn't hijacked. You were just pulling a prank.

You realize this means war. Insert evil laughing here

  5. steakz

awww no kick in the nutsack yet? :p

getting interesting now, wonder whats next in RCs wonderful plan.

  6. pichux3

Jim, has somebody in your life been being annoying lately?
'Cause reclaimer and friends seem to be getting a wee bit (understatement of the year)sarcastic.

    • Jim Stitzel

Hehe, I'm a somewhat sarcastic personality by nature, so some of that comes out in the Reclaimer's exasperation from time to time.

      • SnowXing

        Was that a sarcastic comment?

Was I being sarcastic by asking that?

        The world will never know.

        Was that sarcasm?

        Or that?

This was good Jim, and despite my apparent absence for the past few weeks, I have been reading. My only concern is that the images in these past few have been alittle redundant. The writing is sharp as always, but the quality of the images has been a little iffy. I'm no expert, but I think a little less orange might make it somewhat more palatable.

I do like your choice of shot angles and your layout.

    • Jim Stitzel

Well, the lighting is a product of this map, so it's not something I'm likely to change at this point. Half the map is colored with orange and the other half is tinted in blue. Our characters will be moving around a bit.

    • SnowXing

Orange is cool dude. It's valves color.

  8. pittofdoom

I love RC's sarcasm in the 4th panel. Pure gold. I even thought he was serious for a second.

  9. ChadPurzycki

    hooray an update!

  10. Waltrip0055

    Great comic! :D
    Love the sarcasm

  11. scorpionridge

Run away from the glowing man!!

    LOL

"RUN AWAY!!, RUN AWAY!!!" < - great movie moment.

  12. bjb yo

Who would've thought that a shotty to the face wouldn't kill him…
But I'm pretty sure we all saw this coming, right?
