I’ve been doing some thinking and planning the last several weeks, and I thought I’d take a moment to let you all in on my ultimate plans for Reclaimer. Basically, what I’ve decided is that I’m going to end the Reclaimer series right where I’d intended to back when I first started this comic. What this means is that Reclaimer will not run indefinitely, as I had most recently thought and expected but will have a very definite ending point. Now, mind you, the series end will not take place for several weeks yet and will, in fact, more than likely take another few months to complete. There are still a lot of loose ends to be brought together, a couple of Cavalcada to collect, mysteries to be revealed, and a super-villain to be faced down (for good or ill). Right now, I’m thinking that Reclaimer will close out its run somewhere in the vicinity of Comic #300, but that is by no means a definite thing at this point, as I don’t have concrete scripting completed that far ahead. So, for those of you who are hopelessly addicted, you still have plenty of time remaining to get your fix.
That said, one of the main reasons why I plan to end Reclaimer where I do is because I want to move on to other things—defined as another webcomic. I have been drawing and sketching almost every day for the last several weeks now, and I have long had a desire to start my own hand-drawn, hand-lettered webcomic that is of my own intellectual property. I do not have the time to run two webcomics concurrently, so something has to give. Reclaimer is based on a Microsoft IP, and so I am unable to do as much with Reclaimer as I would like. By launching a webcomic of my own design, I can branch out and do a lot more creatively. This webcomic idea has been percolating in the back of my mind for well over a year now, so I’m excited to be able to finally start putting it into action. If you want to stay abreast of updates, head over to Starchips and sign up for email updates. I’m hoping to get it officially off the ground sometime early in 2010.
If, by some miracle, I find that I am able to run two webcomics concurrently, then I certainly have plotlines that could continue the saga of our hero for a long time to come. I guess we’ll just have to see how things play out.

Please look into having a print version of the final comic in a graphic novel format!
I bet MS and Bungie would like to rake in some extra dough too!
You know, there's a character in the forum RPG thread called Creighton. You any relation?
That awesome, awesome thread
… But sigh. I suppose all good things must eventually come to an end. We knew this day would have to come….
Believe me, I've tried contacting Microsoft to broker some sort of licensing agreement with them. No dice so far.

Ah, but it was too good to last long. A candle that burns twice as bright lasts half as long, after all.
Well, as I've mentioned, this series will still run for a while. It'll take some time to get all the way to 300, and the series could take longer than that to complete.

Well, it was a good ride.
Actually, you know what??? I'm glad it's ending soon. because AT LEAST WE WILL BE ABLE TO FIND OUT WHAT THE F*^% IS GOING ON!!!!
Well, 'soon' is a relative term. It's still gonna be several months before we're done here.

You got the title wrong. It's "This is the way the world ends", not "will end".
facepalm
I think you missed the point. Reclaimer hasn't ended yet, so the title points to a future ending, not a current one.
"Will end" is future perfect tense, but "ends" can also be used in a future tense. Plus the H3 Trailer says "ends".
Hehe, mine was a deliberate change to a deliberate end. Artistic license and all that jazz.

any possibilty you might do some RC spinoffs/oneoffs if you ever lack inspiration on the new comic?
I do have additional plotlines for Reclaimer at the ready, and I'll leave myself the option of coming back to Reclaimer later if I find I'm able to run multiple webcomics at the same time. So, yes, there's hope.
Jim you beat me to it. : (
Beat you to what, exactly?

mkay… you'll wrap it up. Yeah…
...what if some new cool maps come out with some cool props?
...will you be able to resist?
Heh, I'm not sure we can expect any more maps to show up for Halo 3, so that's not really a concern for me at this point.

You should see how the guys at Red vs Blue do it. They have worked something out apparently where they can sell DVD's shirts and all sorts of items that have a large quantity of Halo items on them.
No dice. They're not the easiest guys to contact (aka, virtually impossible).
You should see what the guys at Red vs blue do. They must have figured something out to sell their products as Halo loaded as it is
I am surprised…I guess they've just blown up over the past couple of years and have become quite busy. That's a bummer though, but if they can do it i am sure you can too
I've looked for email addresses for any of the Roosterteeth guys, or simply a contact form on their website and haven't been able to nail anything down. If someone can provide me with some contact information, I'll try again to query about their process.

Maye you could send a pm to Burnie. Through the members page or something.
Jim, while I'm sad Reclaimer will be ending sometime within the next year or so, I'm glad as well, because if you do STARCHIPS anywhere near as well as you do this, I will be a hooked reader for that series as well.
Here's hoping.
