Today’s comic is the first part in a special Reach Edition run of comics. It will more than likely read in more of a narrative format due to the lack of custom game availability in the Beta, but I hope it will be enjoyable, nonetheless. Stay tuned to the blog for some Reach screenshots and a couple of Reach film clips from some of my games last night.

Nice! Looking forward to more shots and story
Yeah, this should be an interesting series to put together. I don't have nearly as much control over the settings and visuals as I normally like to have. Forces me to be to flexible.
HAHAHA!!! I WAS RIGHT!! I'm glad you were part of the F&F group, because it's nice to see what you can do with Reach
Um, you were right about what?
I didn't, but then again, I only played for about an hour or so last night.
It plays really well. It is a bit different, and the button configuration takes a little getting used to. I think I ended up going with the Recon layout, because it's most similar to the Halo 3 configuration. Not sure if I'll stick with it long-term, though. I may try a couple of the other layouts.
I'll probably stick with the Recon variant as well, because I don't want to waste valuable Beta time trying to get used to the controls. Maybe once the full version comes out, I'll fiddle with it, but not the Beta.
I have to say, though, that it has been kind of fun playing with other button schemes, just to see how they play.
Nice job Dem. Good games last night, look forward to seeing tou on again soon.
Yeah, I had fun. I may try to get back on again tonight, depending on my schedule this evening shapes up.
Id like to ask: How many people actually have got their hands on the Beta now?
This looks like its gonna be a great set of comics, and at least we know it is still Reclaimer-themed. The Feralmind…the Covenant…I think ill place my bet with humanity, they haz Reclaimer, they can haz win.
Quite a few, though I have no idea what the actual numbers are right now.
So many questions, so few answers.
Indeed…another spanner in the works of my theories here too: Maybe I'm wrong and, as with the Haloverse, this is in the past and the future it mentions is the one where our lovable Reclaimer makes his appearance…meaning that the Feralmind has been in the Reclaimerverse before and has only made a comeback in Jim's comics… Or maybe Im just over thinking this whole thing! Ah how my brain overflows with possibilities, it hurts!
Yeah, you're probably over-thinking it a bit. My guess is that this is just to show off the Beta, and the hover text more refers to the fact that although Reach is new and different, it's still the same Halo as we know it.
But knowing Jim, I'm probably horribly wrong.
I thought I saw Roosterteeth playing with some peeps from TTL. You see any of them online?
How does it play, really looking forward to it. Also nice narrative.
EDIT: I just had a crazy and (Reclaimer God save me) blasphemous thought. Seeing as this could well be the future, which is deduced from the hover text, could Reclaimer…dare I say it…be 'MIA', as it were? And if so…is the Feralmind still around when RC's days are up? I damn well hope not o.o
'Things look different, and yet the same, in the future'. The technology is different…but the war is the same…Jim, I pray I'm not right.
wait the reach beta is out!?
I don't know how to use my invitation I got in ODST though!
So, Jim, when Reach comes out, are you gonna switch over to it for making RC or will you still use H3?
The Beta isn't available through ODST yet. It'll be obvious on Monday when it is. I'm in early because of the Friends and Family wave.
I'm honestly not sure. It'll depend heavily on what sort of options are available when the full version of the game drops this fall.
And whether or not RC is finished by then.
oh…. sorry for freaking out…
No big. You're not even close to the first person to wonder how people have early access to the Beta.
I realise that there are millions of people who wanted early access (me being one of them as well), but I think I have still failed to grasp the sheer scope of this Beta. I'm just amazed by just how much excited the Beta has stirred up, and can't wait to see what the full version does
So much excitement, in fact, that I got up around 7:30 am to wait for midnight in Washington state (8:00 am GMT), only to find out that it would be released 11:00 am there, and so 7:00 pm here. Withdrawal symptoms from something you've never played are the worst. D:
Which it wont be, God help us.
I think im probably over-thinking it too. But this isn't just to show off the Beta and to tease us…there is an aspect of story about it. After all, it includes the Feralmind.
Because there is never anything you do without a reason…:)
Pretty much, yeah.
Everything I do in this series is story-related, even on the special comic runs.
