Well, I feel like I should start introducing a few characters that are present in my fan-fiction writing, and specifically the photoshops I make using Halo 3 screenshots to show them. So, let's begin:

-Cathy-327 (Focus on the visor of her helmet. You'll see what I mean.)
-The Cast (A partial cast shot. Download for best view, but be advised that it is a very large file)
-Aurora (One of the AI's that will play a part in the story. Yes, that was who it looks like.)

Hey what if people were to post some of their photoshopping skills here? Like edited Halo 3 pictures and stuff? I reckon it'd be interesting to see what people can do :p

There's something... 'off' about Cathy-327. I can't quite put my finger on it, though. I tend to think that her face doesn't quite line up with the angle of the ODST helmet and that it might be just a touch too far forward to look like it fits in the helmet without her nose being pressed right up against her VISR.

I used the face of one of the female Marines you find in campaign, so odds are it won't match up properly. That said, I think this is the best I can do for it for now, unless I thicken the inside lining of the helmet a bit more.

The Cathy one was nice, but her face was too wide and low under the visor. Good idea though. I suppose I could submit one I'm proud of. I can't find the original jpeg, but on page 24-25 of http://chaostheory.halo3webcomics.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ChaosTheoryChapter13.pdf there's an image that I'm happy with.

It took me a while to figure out that that was a reflection of Axel. Nicely done, mate.

Also, it's not easy to make things match up like you want them to when the tools at your disposal are Halo 3 screenshots where you had to guess the proper angle for the face and Photoshop Elements 6. I hope to get CS3 or something similar when I go to college, though, so hopefully, things will improve then.

Anyone else want to put up their screenshot alteration? Do it!

I do, but copy and paste is out and Jim has blocked the embed. Hey Jim are you theoretically able to allow embeds just for this thread?

If you can find a trial for CS3 somewhere still, i can give you a crack so you can keep it. dont have one yet for CS4 unfortunately :(

Um my friend actually downloaded it, and gave me the crack. I can ask where he got both of them from but how to actually get them is a whole different story :D

Elements 6 is still working for me, apparently. I took a bit more time to make sure I was doing things right this time around, so the results should be much better.

    The Scout

The face is from a stock photograph, hence the quality/detail/whatever discrepancy.

I think what my Australian friend means is that it's really hard to take a photograph of someone's head and insert it into a Halo 3 screenshot because of the disparity between the 'realness' of the photograph and the relatively cartoonish look of the screenshots. It makes the head look like it just doesn't quite belong. Your image looks pretty cool despite that, though. I do wonder if there's a way to put a filter effect on the headshot that would make it blend better with the rest of the image.

I'm sure there is a filter, I just don't know what it is or if it's available on Elements 6. I know I've seen good integrations of real photographs and Halo screenshots before, but not in exactly the same usage as I went for. Ah, well. That's what I get for teaching myself how to use photoshop, I guess. I'll probably take a photoshop class to fill my fine arts credit in college, so hopefully, I can figure out just how to improve it next time.

On a side note, I never realized how bulky MJOLNIR was before doing this photoshop.
